Banner Terminology cont’d… • Subject codes • are 4-digit alpha codes unique to each academic level • post-grad, post-sec, tuition short, non-credit, etc. • Economics (post-secondary) – ECON • Economics (university) – ECNM • Course number: • 1st digit generally represents level of course (1st yr, 2nd yr, 3rd yr, 4th yr) • Course codes: • 4-digit subject code + 4-digit course number (ECON 1000) Schedule Overview

Banner Terminology cont’d… • Majors • Replace legacy program codes • are 4-character codes e.g. Cabinetmaking – CABI • Course Reference Number (CRN) • Unique 5-digit number assigned to each section • Used for scheduling, registration, grades, etc Schedule Overview

Banner Terminology cont’d… • Session Id • At “section” level (first page of SSASECT form): used for “ownership” and for scheduling download • At “session” level (Meeting Time of SSASECT): identifies the individual deliveries & used to link faculty to the delivery Schedule Overview
