SUMMARY THE GRADUAL AGEING OF THE WORKFORCE IS BECOMING EVIDENT IN VARIOUS EUROPEAN PRODUCTION AREAS THIS TREND IS CAUSED BY THE LOWER BIRTH RATES, AND IT CONCERNS ALL THE EU MEMBER STATES, THOUGH WITH NATIONAL AND REGIONAL PECULIARITIES
SUMMARY THE “AGEING WORKFORCE” ISSUE IS COMPENSATED FOR NEITHER BY THE INCREASING PRESENCE OF WOMEN ON THE LABOUR MARKET NOR BY THE NET MIGRATION RATE OF GROWTH. THIS MEANS THAT, IN ORDER TO GIVE CONTINUITY AND PRESERVE THEIR WORKING ACTIVITY, SMALL ENTERPRISES, THEIR OWNERS AND WORKERS ARE FACED WITH THE NEED TO FIND WAYS AND MEANS OF TRANSFERRING PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE AND TACIT COMPETENCE TO OTHER WORKERS
AIMS OF THE PROJECT THE CREATION OF A TRANSNATIONAL NETWORK AT EUROPEAN LEVEL ACTING AS A REPOSITORY OF COMPETENCE AND AS THE CARRIER OF INFORMATION FOR THE PRESERVATION AND CONTINUITY OF PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE AND TACIT COMPETENCE OWNED BY THE SENIOR EMPLOYEES.
AIMS OF THE PROJECT THE PROJECT ENVISAGE THE NETWORK IDENTIFICATION OF METHODOLOGIES AIMED AT SETTING UP CONTINUOS TRAINING SCHEMES SPECIFICALLY TAILORED TO THE TARGET GROUP CONSIDERED (SENIOR EMPLOYEES) BY FAVOURING INTERACTION AND THE EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCES WITH YOUNGER COLLEGUES (the intergenerational co-operation) THUS SUSTAINING A NEW STRATEGY OF AGE MANAGEMENT
AIMS OF THE PROJECT THE NETWORK WILL DEVELOP AN INTERVENTION MODEL TAILORED TO THE SMEs SPECIFIC NEEDS FOR BRINGING COMPETENCES UP-TO-DATE, TARGETED TOWARDS THE ELDERLY EMPLOYED PERSONS AN OTHER AIMS CONSISTS IN AWAKENING A GROUPOF PROFESSIONALS WITH SPECIFIC FEATURES TO THE PROBLEMS OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
AIMS OF THE PROJECT THIRDLY THE INTERVENTION IS AIMED AT WIDENING THE ORIGINAL NETWORK IN ORDER TO PROMOTE SHARING OF INFORMATION RELATED TO THE ISSUE OF THE AGEING WORKFORCE BY A MAINTREAMING PROCESS THAT WILL INVOLVED STAKOLDERS, POLICY MAKERS, PRIVATE AND PUBLIC INSTITUTION
