Purpose and Background Getting married has been one of the most significant occurrences in an individuals life for centuries, and today the bridal industry will continue to grow as well as in the centuries to come. The British public saw Queen Victoria and Prince Albert wed on February 10, 1840,and many fell in love with her image that day; Her style has been mimicked ever since. The white wedding dress became the main focal point of this special occasion.
Discussion • Champagne and Ivory colored dresses are more popular as opposed to the traditional white • Brides are being called “bridezillas” because of the craze of wanting to have that perfect wedding • Brides are caring more about what's in style and being influenced by celebrities for their wedding rather than the traditions
Data Collections and Findings • Collages were made triggering different gown and décor themes: blue, red, pink, white • Observations in Bridal shops of ladies trying on their wedding dresses • Interviews with a bride and a bride-to-be • Brides are steering away from the traditional white dress • Becoming more independent on the planning of their wedding day • Many factorial influences: money, traditions, season, celebrities • STRESSFULL!
