Main Idea AndIntro • Indus River Valley in the Indian subcontinent gave rise to the earliest Indian Civilizations. • The first Indian civilization developed in the Indus River Valley, about 4,500 years ago.
Physical Geography • IRV stretched out to northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent. • The Indian subcontinent stretched south ward from central Asia into the Indian ocean. It separated the north from the rest of Asia by towering mountain ranges. • The Himalayas which are the tallest peeks in the world made it hard for immigrants and invaders to enter India by land. • Khyber pass- Were the few paths that let people cross mountains into India. • Rivers- Ganges River and Indus River
Climate • IRV had monsoons and very high tempatures • Nov-Mar= Monsoons blow north – northeast • June-Oct= Wet seasons meant southwest monsoons • You could tell monsoons were very important to the IRV civilization to tell weather.
Hinduism And Buddhism • Indus River Valley, were mostly Hindu. They believed In reincarnation, nirvana and a few more other stuff that they shared with the Buddhist. They usually had different beliefs but it was all based on the same thing. Reaching NIRVANNA.
