Environmental Regulations • Bird & Habitat Directive • Natura 2000 Directive • Dutch laws on flora and fauna • Dutch laws on land use
General Review Framework • Estimation of deaths • Changes in size and quality of habitat area • Increase/decrease of food and quality of food
Birds and Bats • Risk of collision • Effects on resting and foraging birds and bats • Barrier effects
General Conclusion and Forecast • It is possible to realize a large wind energy project in a Natura 2000 area, but a lot of ecological research is required. • Permit procedures will start this year. • Realization of the project expected in 2012/2013.
