Natural Causes • Subsidence • Wave erosion • Saltwater intrusion- When saltwater runs into a fresh water • Sea level rise • Tropical storms and hurricanes • Erosion of barrier islands
Human Causes • The growing population • Increase in agriculture • Draining for more land • Building canals, levees, and dam structure • Oil infrastructure • Fisheries and seafood
