  3. 2. Set revision goals Long Before the Assessment • Choose topics needing extra work • Set time frames for study (when and what?) • Study cards • Mind mapping

  4. 3. Practice sitting exams (get some feedback) • Go through past exam papers & get feedback on your answers • Time yourself while doing past exam papers • Find out where and when the exam is held • Find out the day/date/time of exam • Find out room/building of exam • Do a travel time/plan

  6. Day Before the Assessment Organise the things you need to take to the exam: • ID card • Examination slip • Texts or notes (for open book exams) • Stationery • Water bottles/sweets

  7. Morning of the Assessment R E L A X ! • Eat your usual breakfast • Don’t study • Leave early to get to your exam

  8. During the Assessment Use the reading time well… • read the exam notes & instructions • identify compulsory questions • Decide between optional questions • Decide how much time you’ll spend on each question

  9. During the Assessment Use the writing time well… • underline key instruction words • make notes or mind maps on questions before writing Remember strategies for getting through ‘mental blocks’
