2. The 10th annual BASRaT symposium is upon us and this year takes us to the beautiful Hendon Campus of Middlesex University. Delegates will be able to: Update industrial knowledge and acquire new skills from the many guest speakers. Network with fellow GSR’s and other health professions. Share good practice through the presentation of member research posters. Browse some exciting displays from some select exhibitors. Earn 6 important CPD Hours.

Saturday Night BASRaT Social Event This year we will be having a BASRaT social event to which everyone is invited for a bargain price of only Ł10! Enjoy a relaxed night to socialise with fellow members and other professionals and industry representatives giving you a valuable chance to network, catch up with old friends and most importantly have fun! All for only Ł10! This will include food and your first two drinks. Even if you can’t get to the meal, everyone is welcome to just come along on the night and join in…for free!! 5. Guest Speakers
This year we are proud to welcome presentations from the following guest speakers: Keynote Speaker & Workshop Leader: Christian Poole Christian graduated from St. Mary’s University College with a BSc (Hons) in Sport Rehabilitation and Sport Science. Christian has had the opportunity to work with a range of elite and recreational athletes in a number of sports including rugby, football, hockey and athletics. Christian is currently a lecturer at St. Mary’s, a Rehabilitation & Performance Coach at Sport Dimensions in London and is a consultant to many professional athletes and teams. Christian is currently finishing his MSc in Applied Biomechanics and is a Fellow of Applied Functional Science. Christian has a particular interest in dynamic muscle function and mechanical energetics. Speaker: HCL Healthcare HCL Healthcare is a leading healthcare recruitment organisation in the UK for medical staff and a primary provider of Remedial Instructors to the military across the UK. Guest Speaker: Rob Walsh Rob is currently a senior lecturer in Sport Rehabilitation at Middlesex University. He originally studied at St Mary’s University, Twickenham where he gained an BSc (Hons) in Sport Rehabilitation. He then went on to achieve an MSc in Health Promotion: Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention at the University of Pennsylvania California. He is a member of BASES, NASM and a full member of the NSCA. Rob is also certified in Greg Roskopf’s: Muscle Activation Techniques.
6. Guest Speakers
Guest Speaker : Julian Hatcher Julian is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation at Salford University. He has worked in Sport Rehabilitation since its inception in 1995. He is a Fellow of Orthopaedic Medicine and an honorary lifetime member of BASRaT. He has worked in Rugby League (including Great Britain BARLA Rugby League) for 7 years as well as running his own Sports Injuries Clinic in Warrington. He has published several papers around ‘ACL Deficiency: Detection, Diagnosis and Proprioceptive Acuity’ and is currently undertaking Doctor of Education (EdD) with Huddersfield University. Guest Speaker : Anna Everard Anna was the senior physiotherapist at Bradford Bulls RLFC for five years. Prior to Bradford Bulls Anna worked in professional sport for seven years, at Manchester City F.C, Manchester Rugby Union and Salford Reds Rugby League. Anna has also worked in a large Manchester private practice. Anna has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine and a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Rehabilitation. Anna is currently completing her MSc in Sports and Exercise Injury Management at Leeds Met Uni. Her research interest is in the management of Achilles tendon rupture post surgery. Guest Speaker : Brett Smith Dr Brett Smith works at Loughborough University. His research interests concern the psycho-social dimensions of injury, and the development of qualitative research. He has published papers in a range of peer reviewed journals including, Social Science & Medicine and Qualitative Research in Psychology and he is founding Co-editor of the journal Qualitative Research in Sport & Exercise.
