BOSPHORUS BRİDGE Bosphorus Bridge is a suspension bridge which is located between Ortaköy and Beylerbeyi, being the first bridge over the Bosphorus of Istanbul. It connects the continents of Europe and Asia. The construction began in 1970 and was completed in 1973, performed by an English consortium. The total length of Bosphorus Bridge is 1.560 meters.
The installation of the steel towers at Ortaköy side started on May, 1971. The construction at Beylerbeyi towers started on July, 1971. Both steel towers had come to a full rise on January, 1972.
So for the first time it was crossed over on foot from Asia to Europe.
