Internship / Master Thesis - immunology – physiology - oncology - • The oncolytic properties of Newcastle disease virus • The Newcastle disease virus (NDV) has long been known as a natural oncolytic virus that can replicate in human tumor cells but not in normal human cells, and therefore has attracted researchers to develop it as an antitumor agent. • But: less is known about the immunological background of this oncolytic effect. • We are interestedin: • immune response against NDV in mice (as an animal model) • in vivo oncolytic effect of NDV in acute and memory phase of immune response after infection with different NDV strains • which cell type of immune system mediate the oncolytic effect in vivo • We have: • different established mice tumor models (immunological well characterised) • promising preliminary tests of oncolytic activity of different NDV strains in vitro and in vivo • We look for: • diploma or master student in Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Physiology, Immunology, Biochemistry or comparable field of study • internship student (minimum 8-12 weeks) • Contact: • Dr. Ulrike Blohm, email: ulrike.blohm@fli.bund.de • Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut; Federal Research Institute for Animal Health, Südufer 10, D-17493 Greifswald - Insel Riems (Germany) MONEY:ask your local Erasmus coordinator for the program: “students mobility”
