  1. Importance of offset Printing Blanket Offset blanket is an important part of a printing press. It provides multiple benefits: it absorbs shock, it stays hydrated and doesn't mix with the ink, and it transfers ink both as a dot and as a solid. The transfer is clean and crisp without streaks. It can be used as an impression cylinder to transfer ink from one blanket to another. GOOD BLANKET A six percent compressibility means the blanket will have enough resistance to smash when printed. Blankets below five percent are too thin and won't resist smashing as well. Over seven percent means un-sharp dot printing All blankets must conform to these conditions when they get soaked from their face and the back with water and solvents. They should also perform these functions when at high speeds. A blanket comes into contact with a number of papers, plates, and inks. It is saddled with wrong packing heights after longer use periods. Paper lint accumulates as well. The modern offset blanket is a marvel of innovation. The blankets are made up of high-quality fabrics that are laminated together, making them resistant to solvents and other chemicals used in the printing process. Most blankets last about 16 million impressions before being replaced due to the damage that occurs from web breaks.

  2. SAME BLANKETS IN A SINGLE UNIT There are a number of different blanket surfaces available in the market. They can be buffed, coated, and cast. All of them can be used on newspaper presses. It is important to keep in mind that these varieties should not be mixed on any unit or multiple units feeding into the same folder. All blankets in any given machine must not only be of the same type but also must be from the same manufacturer. Most newspaper blankets have a compressible layer integrated into the fabric. The compressible layer is made up of air trapped inside rubber. This type of construction falls into one of two categories: open cell or closed cell. Open-cell constructions are like sponges where many cells connect to each other, while closed-cell constructions are individual cells that don't connect with each other. Even though both types can be used, closed-cell versions provide better smash resistance and compressibility over time than their open-cell counterparts. Ryobi's blankets are made with a blend of resilient materials to provide durability and dependability. They're engineered to withstand the rigorous print environment, ensuring a superior product at the lowest possible operating cost throughout their entire life cycle.
