Impression - In offset printing, this term generally refers to a single printed copy. However, printers may be able to make more than one finished product from a single impression. This is done to economize the printing process. Halftone - Offset printing uses a unique method of transferring images. It is based on an all-or-nothing system, in which only solid images can be transferred. To give the illusion that a shade is being reproduced, very small dots must be used.
