STRONG Passwords • Avoid using words in either English or foreign language dictionaries. • Passwords shall be at least six characters in length, and • Passwords shall conform to the three following conditions: • Contain upper case characters • Contain lower case characters • Contain numerals (0, 1, 2…9) Example: Mvorn0827 Seehttp://www.colostate-pueblo.edu/its/policies/PasswordPolicy.asp

Creating Folders and Saving Documents to Folders The CSU-Pueblo Server Environment
We are going to My Documents (Network)
These are the current sub-Folders and Documents in the My Documents (Network) Folder
Create a New Folder in My Documents File/New/Folder
Renamed to Memos
Windows XP Operating System puts it in alphabetical order with existing Folders
You create a Word document And wish to Save it to a Folder On your Desktop
In our Word document, we click on File/Save 1 Change name of your document

Path to Document when you are In the Folder View
You can Log into any computer on campus and access your • Desktop Files • The Files must be on your Desktop • or in • My Documents (Network) • Use your new username • and password
Stored in and Backed up to an ITS computer server area in Admin Stored only on the Desktop of the Computer at which you are working – No Backup This is your desktop
Desktop Drive My Docs (Network) and Drives F: on are in ITS Server Area in Admin and accessible from your computer or any other computer via the Campus network
This area is secure and usable by Faculty and Staff in that group only
Moving Files and Folders • Drag and Drop • Copy and Paste • Between any Locations and Drives
eMail in MS Outlook • On-campus – click on MS Outlook • Off-campus – Go to http://exmail.colostate-pueblo.edu And Log in Or Go to Faculty & staff page to access BOOKMARK
