Air Traffic Management • Operational plans are in place. • ATM capacity sufficient at all airports except Bloem, KMIA and Polokwane. • Slots applications have been processed. • Sufficient ATC personnel. • ATC’s will not go on leave during WC. • Wage agreements finalised last year. • All flights will be slot coordinated. • No-fly zones will be enforced.
Airports • Operational plans are in place. • Sufficient terminal capacity at all airports except Bloem, KMIA, Polokwane and Port Elizabeth. • KMIA does not have taxi-way. • Temporary infrastructure to be erected at above airports. • Sufficient ground-handling capacity. • Military airports being investigated for parking and refuelling of aircraft.
Air Supply International • No major demand on international routes. • International airlines ready to increase supply should demand increase. • Match has signed up 113 tour operators across the world.
Air Supply - Domestic • Might still experience a shortfall on smaller airports. • Some airlines have loaded inventory in the system. • Others to load by 25 Feb 2010. • Seats available in the market. • Compcom busy with investigation of possible collusion – April 2010.
General • International involvement far below expectations. • Matchvilles reduced to five. • George, Mauritius and PE cancelled due to low demand. • Most spectators to reside in Gauteng. • Aviation will cope with the reduced international spectators numbers.
