What is ‘EBRU’ ? • Ebru is the art of creating colorful patterns by sprinkling and brushing color pigments on a pan of oily water and then transforming this pattern to paper.

-HOW IS “EBRU”APPLIED? • The organic paints are collected in jars, watered and stirred and added “od” . Then the water is prepared with “gum” or “sea kadaif”.
Colours are then carefully spattered over water with brushes made of horsetail and rose wood until there is a dense pattern of several colors.
Finally paper or cloth, is gently laid onto the floating colors. The colors are thereby transferred to the surface of the paper or material. and then the paper or fabric is allowed to dry.
