Internship Objectives • To create successful outings for youth hockey teams to attend Aeros games an play at the Toyota Center pre-game, post-game, and during intermissions. • To market the Aeros and the amateur hockey program to local rinks and local teams. • To set up hockey events all around Houston.

  3. Daily Activities • Design flyers and itineraries for amateur hockey teams playing at the Toyota Center. • Process ticket orders for groups and donations. • Schedule player appearances at youth hockey practices. • Communicate with local rinks to assist in planning hockey events in Houston. • Attend sales meeting and game ops meetings. • Deliver tickets and donations to team managers. • Research what other AHL teams are doing for promotions and brainstorm new ideas.

  4. Game Day Activities • Set up locker rooms for all amateur hockey teams by setting up chairs and setting out water bottles, jerseys, and nameplates. • Escort players downstairs to locker rooms and back up. • Run clock and scoreboard for pre game and post game events. • Assist players in getting ready for national anthem and intermission programs. • Help other youth groups as needed with Chuck-A-Puck, tunnel teams, puck drops, and other events.

Project Description • Organize a youth hockey clinic. • Schedule ice time at a local rink. • Communicate with rink about needs. • Design and distribute flyers. • E-mail coaches and team managers about the clinic. • Register participants. • Print free tickets for players. • Schedule Aeros coaches to attend. • Hire coaches and assistant coaches. • Determine budget and how much to charge per child. • File a check request form to pay coaches.
