The protocol • MoU to migrate the protocol used for interconnect between operators in the UK, from IUP to UK ISUP. • Based on ETSI ISUP with additional capabilities specified by PNO-IG Interconnect Signalling Committee. • Additions support UK facilities such as Indirect Access, and Number Portability. • The MoU seeks the implementation of version 2.2 of the PNO-ISC specification for UK ISUP.
The proposed MoU Milestones 1 UK ISUP Spec V2.2 agreed by PNO-IG 31/03/1999 2 When UK-ISUP shall be available for interconnect testing, in preparation for milestone 3. 31/12/2000 3 When PNOs requesting interconnect may first insist on UK-ISUP provision. 31/12/2001 4 When PNOs requested to provide interconnect may first be allowed to refuse new IUP provision. 31/12/2003 5 When new IUP provision shall cease. 31/12/2004 6 When IUP shall be withdrawn. 31/12/2006
Status • Administrative Working Group (AWG), set up by Oftel to manage the agreement and implementation of the MoU. • The technically, legal and commercially content of the MoU was agreed by the AWG in 3/4Q1999. • Invitation to UK operators and suppliers to sign the document before the end of 1999.
