Chapter 1 • Introduced to Haley and Jason • Find out about them stealing the shrunken head from a museum in Peru • They left it on an alter in a tower in Machu Picchu • Haley finds the letter from the Nation Jívaro • They have 10 days to return the head or she will be killed and they will shrink her head

  3. Chapter 2 • Introduced to Martha • Jason gets fired • Introduced to Nathaniel • He loves Big Macs • Is responsible for Bob Barker’s heart attack • Has two game pieces from the Big Mac Jason brought him

  4. Chapter 3 • Jason and Nathaniel win a trip and a thousand dollars from playing Monopoly • Bob Barker announces he is going to retire • They now have a plan to return the head

  5. Chapter 4 • They pack for Ecuador • Haley puts the shrunken head in a t-shirt and in her backpack • Jason collects the thousand dollars

  6. Chapter 5 • Leave to Ecuador • Haley’s perfume confiscated • Jason puts a letter in his mom’s purse • Kids say they need to go to the bathroom • Head to the exit instead

  7. Chapter 6 • Parents realize the kids are missing • They read the letter, kids say they have to save lives • Martha has asthma attack and faints • Nathaniel wants to go to the resort, but they go to the police

  8. Chapter 7 • Kids travel from QuitoPostazaTiputiniRio Napo • Buy bananas from woman outside the office • Haley leaves the backpack on the plane • They have to run back to get it

  9. Chapter 8 • Catch flight to Tiputini • It’s very beuatiful and green, but very humid and hot • Two Jívaro men take Jason and Haley through the jungle • Give Haley a marriage necklace made out of seeds and snake teeth • They then have to take a canoe on the river for 2 days • Spot some howler monkeys in the trees • Haley gives one a banana • One takes her backpack with the shrunken head in it • Jason throws his shoes at them • Monkeys start to chase them • Haley falls and gets attacked by them • Jívaro men shoot the monkeys with darts and the monkeys run away • They return the shrunken head to the Chief, but they are late and he is mad

  10. Chapter 9 • Haley and Jason receive consequences for stealing the head and being late • Neither of them can leave the jungle • Jason has to go on a mission to find his true Jívaro identity • Haley has to marry Pavito- the chief’s son • Chief gives Jason a strong drug to help him have a good vision in the jungle • Haley learns how to make ‘manioc’ (the beer-like drink of the Jívaro) • They cook the root, chew it, spit it into a pot to let it ferment

Chapter 10 • Jason returns from the jungle after having his vision • Tells story of how he came upon a river, got in it, and the current took him to some waterfalls • He started to choke on water and drown because he couldn’t breathe • He then saw a duck on top of the water • The duck grabbed his hand and saved him • Jason’s new identity is “Jason el Pato” • Jason tells Haley he made the vision up • Haley starts crying because she doesn’t want to marry Pavito and doesn’t know what to do

  12. Chapter 11 • Pavito kidnaps Haley and Jason from their sleep • He reveals he doesn’t want to marry Haley because he has a Jívaro girlfriend • He helps them escape to Tiputini • Jason and Haley go to buy tickets back to Postaza, and see themselves on a news broadcast. • The woman recognizes them and Jason calls the police • They are reunited in Postaza with their family, and they decide they are going to tell their parents the truth • Haley cries because she is happy to see her parents, but also scared to tell them what happened
