Draft Draft tapers faces using a specified angle to selected faces in the model You can specify the following types of draft: Neutral plane Parting line Step draft
Draft : Neutral Plane a. None : Drafts only the selected faces b. Along Tangent : Extends the draft to all faces that are tangent to the selected face
Draft : Neutral Plane c. All Faces. Drafts all faces extruded from the neutral plane d. Inner Faces. Drafts all inner faces extruded from the neutral plane
Draft : Neutral Plane e. Outer Faces. Drafts all outer faces next to the neutral plane
Drafts : Parting Line The parting line option lets you draft surfaces around a parting line 3D Parting line
Allow Reduced Angle • only with Parting Line • some portions of the drafted face may be smaller than the specified draft angle.
Draft : Parting Line with Step Draft The step draft creates one face rotated about the plane used as the Direction of Pull
Draft : Parting Line with Step Draft • Tapered and perpendicular steps in draft
Draft Analysis • You can check the draft angles on your model using the draft analysis tool. Draft analysis creates a color-coded rendition of the model faces based on the angle and the direction of pull criteria that you specify • examine angle changes within a face
