Existing Conditions • Woodland Pavement Resurfacing • One of first 12 “macadamized” roads in Madison in 1900. • Loantaka to Green completely resurfaced in 2008. • Noe Ave east to Chatham Twp line curbs, drains, resurface in 1993. • Central section from Green to Noe has not been resurfaced in over 20 years, except for resurfacing done in areas affected by infrastructure replacement work. • Due to length and overall cost, the central section will have two phases. • Woodland Traffic conditions • Average Daily Trip counts are 7,200 and suitable for State Funding. • Many side streets can be better defined for vehicles and pedestrians. • Key intersections such as Samson Ave can be improved with grading, geometry, accessible walks and improved visibility. • Inconsistent or unexpected changes in curvature, width and profile of road occur which do not help driver, bicycle or pedestrian safety. • Consistent treatment of curbs, aprons, ramps, inlets, bikeway, crossings and certain sidewalks will improve overall safety of users.
NJ Municipal Aid Application CY2009 • NJDOT Funding sought June 20, 2008 as part of a phased approach. • Consultant services for surveying, alternatives traffic calming and final design. • Project Limit Station 45+50 Garfield and Dellwood area to Station 75+50 Barnsdale Noe and Norman area. • Construction Cost Estimate = $536,000 • Funding assistance possible = $225,000
