1. Multibeneficiaries Initial Training of Researchers (ITN) Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES)
Initial Training Networks: ITN International Networks of Participants: 3 organisations in MS and AC Once this is met, any organisation can join the consortium Aim: to improve career perspectives of early stage researchers in both public & private sector Main tasks: • Support mainly early stage (pre-doctoral) researchers • Joint research training programme • mutual recognition of training/diplomas • Opening training events to external researchers • Complementary skills acquisition: entrepreneurship, management, IPR, grant writing, communication
Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) Tasks: Industry needs research Research needs additional resources from industry Skills exchange (know how) Common research project Intersectoral mobility and skills exchange Implemented through staff secondments and Optional recruitment of experienced researchers Networking activities and research costs 3 to 4 years Aim:to open and foster dynamic pathways between public research organisations and private commercial enterprises At least 1 research organization from public sector & 1 from private sector located in at least 2 different Member States or Associated Countries Additional partners from any sector and from any other country welcome
ITN & IAPP FUNDING • 2 main areas • Researchers salary • Contribution to the costs of the project • Flat rate € 1800 per researcher-month
Applicants are research organisations Partners institutes to select their staff for exchange Short term stays between 1 and 12 months Researchers keep salary at home institution and return A partnership in IRSES shall be composed of at least two independent partners established in at least two different EU Member States (MS) or Associated countries (AC) and research organisation(s) located either in countries with which the EU has an S&T Agreement or in other third countries covered by the ENP One of the MS/AC beneficiaries will be the coordinator of the project Duration: 2- 4 years International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) Aim:to strengthen research partnerships through staff exchanges and networking activities between European research organisations and research organisations from S&T agreement • Funding: Flat rate of € 1900 per exchanged staff member per month to cover: • cost of travel and subsistence of the exchanged staff; networking activities, management costs and overheads
2. Monobeneficiaries (Individual Fellowships) • Incoming Fellowships • From third countries into EU MS and AC • Outgoing Fellowships • EU MS and AC residents going to Third countries including ICPC • Intra-European Fellowships • Within the EU MS and AC
Individual Fellowships • Objectives: • Significant advances in such researchers' careers • Building international research relations • To reinforce the international dimension of researcher careers • To transfer acquired knowledge • Individual Action: • Applicants are individual researchers jointly with the host organisation Experienced researchers of any nationality in possession of a doctoral degree, or have 4 years of full-timeresearch experience. Normally researchers with a more senior profile
