  2. Physical • The Outback: Dry desert area. It’s extremely hot, but still teeming with life. It covers inland Australia and most of the west. • Coast: The east coast has more mild temperatures than farther inland. Because of it’s mild climate and large cities, most people choose to live here.

  3. Provinces • The provinces are New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, And South Australia. • The two territories are the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory. • The Capital Territory is much like Washington DC.

  4. Monuments and Land Formations • Uluru/Ayer’s Rock is the single largest rock in the world. It resides in the middle of the Australian outback. • The Sydney Opera house is a beautiful Concert hall near Sidney Harbor. It was built in 1955. • The Sydney Harbor bridge is a tremendous bridge that runs across Sydney harbor. It’s known to the locals as “The Coat Hangar.”

  5. Climate • The coast is mild and cool all year round. Most Aussies live on the East coast. • Inland is all desert. • Southern Australia has very hot summers and very cold winters during the opposite months of the year.

  6. Interesting facts • The hottest day in Australia was 123°F • Just one of their states(Western Australia) takes up half the country • There are more sheep than people • Australia produces most of the world’s opals.
