Tips for decoding words • Do not tell the students the word right away. • “Go back and reread that word.” • “Look at the first part of the word.”, “Look at the end of the word.”, “Look at the middle of the word.” • “Are there any parts of the word that you know?” • “Reread the sentence and put in a word that makes sense.” • Remember when we studied ___ feature in word study . . .
