5/1 & 5/2 Agenda: Put away your electronic devices • Take your seat, & take out your Packet from last class. If you were absent, please get one from the black cart. At your table, please follow these instructions: • Have 1 person take out a full piece of paper and something to write with. Designate a recorder at your table • At the top of the paper, write your table number. Table numbers are as follows: • Back row moving from the door towards the windows are tables, 1,2,3 • Front row moving from my desk to the windows are tables 4,5,6 • Immediately below where you wrote your table number, write the names of everyone at your table. Include absent people • Once 1-3 are complete, review the first page of your packet, and begin looking at the chart on the next page. Stop at the chart
5/1 & 5/2 Agenda • Review & research President’s Dilemma • First page using textbooks, no electronic devices • Second page using textbooks, and computers along the wall-5 minutes at a time on the computers (still keeping your electronic devices away). • Whole class discussion • (If time permits) Divide up the following pages among the members of your table. Read your assigned page(s), highlighting important/confusing topics/content. It is possible there may be 2 people covering the same page, this is okay, but they both need to read individually • No HW
1st Page Review • Discuss what you read on the first page and discuss how to summarize the situation. Once your table has agreed on a summary, write it down on your table’s paper • Allow everyone at the table to share what topics/concepts/words they need clarification on. Write these down below your summary; leave room for definitions to be recorded later • Once your list in #2 is complete, divide the list up among everyone at your table and use the Economic textbooks to find clarification. DO NOT USE YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICES • Once everyone has found answers, record these on your table’s paper • If you finish early, begin reviewing and discussing the chart
Chart Review • Look over the headings of the chart, and add any concepts or titles that you need clarification on to your list • Divide the list from step 2 up among the members of your table. Use textbooks and the computers along the wall to find clarification on the items listed • Limit computer time to no more than 5 minutes each • STILL NO PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES • Record the information you find on your table’s paper
Whole Class Clarification • Now as a whole class we will use the time to see how table’s did in their research/exploration
