A recap • A Market Position Statement (MPS) is a document to help the market plan its future role and function • It supports the Care Bill’s requirement for Local Authorities to “promote the efficient and effective operation in its area of a market in services for meeting care and support needs” • It is produced by the local authority, with partners, to inform the whole market, regardless of funding source • Outlines future supply and demand, market opportunities and future care models • It is part of an ongoing engagement process between SCC and the market, and is an organic document!
