What is an Output Device? An output device is any computer hardware equipment used to communicate with the results of data that is processing and carried out by an information processing system to the world. Different types of output devices are: • Speakers • Headphones • Screen • Printer etc.
The Different Types of Printers. • Dot Matrix: dot matrix printer or impact matrix printer is a type of computer printer with a print head that runs back and forth, or in an up and down motion, on the page and prints by impact, striking an ink-soaked cloth ribbon against the paper, much like the print mechanism on a typewriter. • Laser: A laser printer is a common type of printers that rapidly produces high quality text and graphics on a plain paper. As with digital photocopy and all in one, laser printers employ a dry printing process. • Inkjet: An inkjet printer is a type of computer printer that creates a digital image by propelling droplets of ink onto paper. Inkjet printers are the most commonly used type of printer and range from small inexpensive consumer models to very large professional machines that can cost up to thousands of dollars. • Plotter: A plotter is a computer printing device for printing vector graphics. In the past, plotters were widely used in applications such as computer-aided design, though they have generally been replaced with wide-format conventional printers. It is now commonplace to refer to such wide-format printers as "plotters," even though they technically aren't.
Headphones. Headphones are two small speakers that are portable and you wear it around your head. It is held around your ears and is connected to a source which gives out sound for example a phone, MP3’s, CD Players etc. Headphones are also called headset but headphones are more common then headsets. There is a in-ear version of a headphone and it is called earbuds or is commonly known as earphones. The word headset is used to describe the combination of headphone and microphone and are used for two-way communication, for example a phone.
Thin-film Transistor Monitor(TFT Monitor). TFT Monitor is also known as a Thin-film Transistor monitor. This technology is used for ultimate LCD display. These Monitors replaces the old CRT Monitor as a display of choice. Many LCD monitors uses TFT Technology know a days. The benefit of a TFT monitor is a separate, tiny transistor for each pixel on the display. Because each transistor is so small, the amount of charge needed to control it is also small. This allows for very fast re-drawing of the display, as the image is re-painted or refreshed several times per second.
Cathode Ray Tube Monitor(CRT Monitor) CRT Monitor stands for Cathode ray Monitor. When personal computers were first introduced, nearly all came equipped with large, heavy monitors. As technology changed and improved, more and more computers started shipping with light-weight, and more importantly, smaller, flat screen monitors. There are still a number of different competing technologies for the flat screen, but all the first-generation personal computer monitors were CRTs. In a CRT Monitor there is actually a ray gun.
