Background • ~2010 Began pilot in several schools • 2010-2013 ~120 teachers trained through school-based and centralized trainings • June 2011 Included in the Robotics Olympics • SY 2013-14 Included in K2 curriculum; District-wide PD for over 100 K2 teachers • Currently ~240 bee-bots in about 180 classrooms (K2~G2)

  3. What do students learn? • Pre-programming skills • problem solving • combining commands to create a longer program • Reinforce concepts on the mats • alphabet, number sense, vocabulary, maps, shapes, colors, science, etc… • measurement • left & right; cardinal directions
