Why was machiavelli famous? • Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian statesman and writer. He was considered the father of modern political science. He also wrote a very famous book called “The Prince”. Interesting Facts • In the book, “The Prince”, Machiavelli gives advice on how to stay in power. • He was interested in human behavior and society. • Most of the ideas in “The Prince” were based on the activities of the Borgia Family. • Wrote discourses on “The First Ten Books of Livy” and “The Art of War”. • It was believed that he faked his own death! • He was sent to jail twice in his lifetime.
