Definition I • Hypertext (hyper=over, above, beyond; 超文本) • A term coined by Ted Nelson around 1965 for a collection of documents (or "nodes") containing cross-references or "links" which, with the aid of an interactive browser program, allow the reader to move easily from one document to another. –FOLDOC Def.1: a group of texts (nodes) interconnected with links. Definition IV • The Garden of Forking Paths The title of an incomplete novel, mentioned in passing in Borges’ short story of the same title.
