The flange is a method of joining two pipes, valves, pumps & other equipment in order to make a piping system. It provides the easiest access for cleaning & modification. Usually, the flange is welded & screwed. The flange joints are made by bolting together two flanges with the gasket between them in order to provide a seal.

The flange is a method of joining two pipes, valves, pumps & other equipment The flange is a method of joining two pipes, valves, pumps & other equipment in order to make a piping system. Basically, the material of flange sets during the choice of the pipe, most of the cases the flange is the same material as the pipe. All flanges, at Saini Flange Private Limited – best flange manufacturers in India, the specifications fall under ASME & ASTM standards. Dimensions of Flanges All flanges are according to ASME B16.5 have a number of standard dimensions. When the flanges are ordered, then suppliers want to know the material quality. For instance, ASTM A105 is the forged carbon steel flange, on the other hand, A182 is the forged stainless steel flange.
Bolted Flange Connections It is a complex combination of several factors, including bolts, flange, gaskets, pressure & temperature. In order to achieve the successful results, all these various elements are interrelated. Flange Types As we mentioned earlier, the types of flanges, the most used flange types according to ASME B16.5 such as SlipOn flange, Welding Neck, Lap Joint, Threaded & Blind flanges. Welding Neck Flange: This type of flange is easy to recognize at long tapered hub, which goes gradually over wall thickness from the pipe or fitting. It provides pivotal reinforcement for usage in myriad applications, including high pressure & elevated temperature. This type of flange will be welded to the pipe or fitting with a single full penetration. Socket Weld Flange: The flange is developed for the usage on smallsize high pressure piping. Its static strength is equivalent to slipon flange, but it's fatigue strength is 50% greater than the doublewelded slipon flanges. Lap Joint Flange: This type of flange has some common dimensions as other flanges that are named as on the page, however, it does not have a raised face as they used in conjunction with a lap joint stub end. Stub End: The flange is always used with a lap joint flange. The flange type connection is applied in lowpressure & noncritical applications. It is a cheap method. Threaded Flange: It is used for special conditions with their main advantage as they can be attached to the pipe without welding. The threaded flange is not suitable for pipe system with thin wall thickness due to the fact that cutting thread on the pipe is not possible. Blind Flange: It is manufactured without a bore, and used to blank off the ends of the pipe. This is one of the highest stressed flange types.
Flange Faces There are different kinds of flanges that are used as the contact faces seating the sealing gasket material. There are two kinds of flanges facing i.e. ASME B16.5 & B16.47 It defines various types of flange facings, including large & small tongue & groove facings. The ring joint facing especially for ring type joint type metal gaskets. Raised Face (RF) This is one the common types that is used in the process of plant applications. This is easy to identify. This is referred as a raised face due to gasket surfaces that are raised above the bolting circle face. The raised face type lets you use a wide combination of gasket designs. The main use of raised face flange is to concentrate more pressure on the smaller gasket area. Therefore, it increases the pressure containment capability of the joint. Flat Face (FF) It has a gasket surface in the same plane as bolting circle face. The applications of using Flat Face flange in that the mating flange or flanged fitting that is made from casting. The flat face flange is never be bolted to the raised face flange. This type of flange face is never to be bolted to the raised face flange RingType Joint (RTJ) It is typically used in high pressure & high temperature above 800 degrees F. The flanges seal when tightened bolts compress the gasket between the flanges into groove. Valves Valve is a mechanical device, which controls the flow & pressure within the system or process. It is essential component of the piping system, which conveys liquids, gases, vapours, etc. There are different types of valves available: plug, ball, butterfly, pinch, pressure relief & control valves. It has a number of models, and each comes up with different features & functional capabilities. There are some valves that are selfoperated, on the other hand, others are manually operated with an actuator.
Functionalities Of Valves Starting or Stopping the flow Increase or Reduce the flow Controlling the direction of flow Regulating the flow or process pressure • • • • Valve Body Sometimes, it is called as the shell, this is the primary boundary of the pressure valve. Valve Bonnet For the opening, the cover in the body is bonnet, and it is second most important boundary of the pressure valve. Alike valve bodies, bonnets are so many designs & models. Valve Trim It is a collective name for replaceable parts in the valve. It includes a disk, stem, seat & sleeves that are needed to guide the stem. The performance of valve is determined by the disk & seat interface. Valve Stem It provides the necessary movement to the disc, plug or ball. This responsible for the proper positioning of the disk.
