Communication audit report is essential since it improves communications within an organization and even outside the organization. • The report assesses the communication tools being used and checking their effectiveness, accessibility and if it gives information on time. The kind of communication tools involve emails, telephone, meetings, etc. • However, the report narrows to internal communication. Internal communication is an essential tool to inform the staff and members of activities in the organization. • A combination of various research methods was used to come up with this report.
During the research, a few concerns were raised from the staff. They include: • Effectiveness of the current channel of communication • The kind of information moving across the company • Communication across departments • The top-down communication. That is how information is supposed to flow from seniors to other staff. • The kind of channel to be used to pass information.
Ways to improve communication Ways to improve communication include: • The company should follow a sequence to pass information. • The company should use multiple channels to deliver information. • Disseminating your message. • Company emphasizing on listening skills • Handling communication problems as they come.
Recommendations Findings showed the importance of a communication audit plan which includes: • Analyze the existing means of communication. • To conduct interviews to inform staff of the importance of communication . • To provide management and employee focus interviews. • Organization should conduct a communication survey regularly. • Should develop a need based communication plan.
Conclusion Conducting a communication audit is not simple and needs a good strategy. However, the results are good since it enhance effective communication in the organization. Therefore, adopting these measures of improving and recommendation, then it will improve the employee’s engagement to the organization.
