  2. Welcome to theCafeteria! • Lyon County School cafeteria strives to serve nutritious meals. We offer breakfast and lunch daily. Our staff is friendly and always willing to help.

Breakfast: The best way to start your day! • Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 to 8:00! • A full meal for breakfast has the following items: • Meat/Meat Alternate (sausage, cheese) • Or Bread/Bread Alternate (cereal, toast) • Or Meat & Bread (sausage biscuit) • Juice • Milk • Choose 3 or 4 items for a meal!

  4. Full Meal Lunch • The meal pattern for lunch is designed to offer 1/3 of a full days worth of protein, nutrients, and vitamins. Yummy!

  5. A Full Lunch includes the 5 Food Groups! Meat or meatalternate: Bread or bread alternate: 2 Fruits or 2 Vegetables or 1 Fruit + 1 Vegetable: Full Meal = 1 meat or meat alternate 1 bread or bread alternate 2 fruit or 2 vegetables or 1 fruit + 1 vegetable 1 milk Milk:

  6. Offer versus Serve • Lyon Co. Schools use the offer versus serve option. Students may choose 3 of 5 items for lunch or 3 of 4 items for breakfast to equal a full meal. Lunch: Choose 3 …………………………………. No less! Choose 4 ……………………………… That’s more! Choose 5 …………………………………. That’s best! Breakfast: Choose 3 or 4 …………………… So you won’t snore!

  7. A la Carte Choices • Under KY law some food items may be offered for students to purchase outside of the meal pattern. These are called a la carte foods. We sell water, ice cream, yogurt, extra milk, 100% juice, and extra food from the menu!

  8. MealNumbers! • All students have a meal account. • Meal accounts have 4 numbers. • You may add money to your meal account at any time! • You may pay in the cafeteria and through the online payment system. To get to the online payment system go to the district website www.lyon.kyschools.us
