  4. Our Vision and Mission • Vision: A state free of sexual violence achieved through respect between and equity among all people. • Mission: To engage the people of Indiana in the primary prevention of sexual violence using state and community-based strategies for societal change.

  5. Goal 1:Educating and Engaging Stakeholders • Dissemination of the sexual violence primary prevention plan • Development of guides targeted to different groups of stakeholders on usage of the plan • Participation of new stakeholders on the SVPPC for the implementation phase

  6. Goal 2:Increasing Capacity to Prevent Sexual Violence • The SVPPC will work within the following systems to build partnerships to implement sexual violence primary prevention strategies and policies: • Policy/Lawmakers • K-12 schools • Colleges and universities • Youth and family-serving organizations • Workplaces

Goal 3:Supporting Communities through Technical Assistance • Identification of evidence-informed sexual violence primary prevention programs, curriculums, and evaluation tools and provision of technical assistance to community-based programs • Ongoing technical assistance needs assessment and regional trainings

  8. Goal 4: Enhancing Social Norms That Promote Sexual Violence Primary Prevention • State and community assessments of social norms among target populations that contribute to sexual violence, and development of plans to modify these social norms • Inclusion of social norms change strategies into all Indiana primary prevention programs: • Healthy relationships skill-building • Bystander intervention • Positive youth development • Social marketing

Goal 5:Inclusion of Priority Populations • Identification of disparately affected populations in Indiana not being reached through mainstream primary prevention efforts • Development of leadership and infrastructure for culturally appropriate sexual violence prevention strategies in at least three of these populations

  10. Goal 6:Enhanced Data Collection, Analysis and Sharing • Establishing baseline prevalence of sexual violence in Indiana through BRFSS • Continuous monitoring of the best prevalence systems to maintain up-to-date knowledge for prioritization and decision-making

  11. Continuation Goal 6:Enhanced Data Collection, Analysis and Sharing • Collaboration with other groups with access to sexual violence prevalence data • Question included in the YRBS
