Importance of Citizen Input • Democracy means literally political power exercised by the people. Understood in activist terms, democracy is a sphere of public life in which ordinary people exercise power. • Public work develops people’s sense of themselves as contributors on a larger stage can generate new confidence and strategic capacity. Process for Forums (Streamlined for College Forums) • Welcome by Host • Remarks Focusing on Sexual Assault and Primary Prevention • Large group divided into small groups • Participants were asked to respond to 5 (3 for college) questions, by writing their thoughts on post it notes. When people finished writing, all ideas were put on a poster sheet. After all ideas were up and if there was time a short discussion was held.
