  2. With its origins in India, yoga has been an important form of meditation. In the early days, gurus and sadhus practiced yoga and meditation as a way to achieve nirvana and get one with god. They would spend hours in penance and keep their mind in a complete state of limbo. The first references to yogic concepts have been found dated as far back as to the 2nd century BC.

  3. Although the modern yoga format became popular only in the late 90s, it is not until recently that it came into practice across a wider population. In Sanskrit, the word yoga is literally translated as "yoke," meaning to attach, join, or unite. It is considered as form of attaining enlightenment through peace and calm.

  4. But the different benefits of yoga are mostly dependent on the style that you practice to attain “moksha” in the form of flexibility, calmness, peace, coordination, balance and physical health. Teaching yoga for beginners is not a big task and with the number of studios coming up today, you can join anywhere and learn good yoga.

  5. After all, with its many health benefits, there is no one who would not want to learn it. To some practitioners, yoga implies a lifestyle. For others it is a fun form of getting fit and healthy and at the same time enhancing their mental health.

  8. Today there are so many formats of working out like zumba, pilates, capoeira in Dubai, etc. available for fitness freaks. While they are all great ways to lose weight rapidly because they include cardio exercises, what yoga has to offer cannot be achieved through other forms.
