  1. AQUASTATIN Ltd. is engaged in research, development, production and application of two groups of products: • AQUASTSTIN AF 20 – a product for ecological and material accidents prevention caused by self – ignition and fire. • AQUASTATIN AD 15-40 – a product for longterm suppression of non – wettable particles of dust (coal, mullock, ash) and prevention of spreading around the area. • Special emphasis is on prevention of ash – spreading from TPP’s ash disposal sites and suppression of coal dust in processes of production, transport and exploitation of coal. • The vision: continuous protection of people’s lives and health, environment and material goods. • Marketing goals: placement of our products on the market of Serbia and other countries in the region, wishing they will become a recognizable Serbian brand both in Europe and the rest of the world. • Our employees and associates are top experts in their fields and they greatly contribute to our value. 2

  2. AQUASTATIN AF 20 A product for ecological and material accidents prevention caused by self – ignition and fire • Prevents the phenomenon of coal self – ignition in TPPs, mines and flammable waste storages. • The product is applied on the surface of a material (coal) and a thin protection film is formed which disables the flow of oxygen. • Treated coal keeps its features intact, its usability in further application or processing is not disrupted the presence of Aquastatin AF 20 is insensible. • Except for the preventive use, this product is also used for fires already occurred. 3

  3. AQUASTATIN AD 15-40 A product for longterm suppression of non – wettable particles of dust (coal, mullock, ash) and prevention of spreading around the area • An effective means of suppression of all types of dust, including the non – wettable coal dust. • It penetrates to the deepest open pores of a material and it covers every particle in it, releasing it from static electricity leading to grouping of particles into larger agglomerates which, burdened with moisture, remain on the ground - "wet sand". • By treating surface layers during the transportation of powder materials (coal, ore, mullock, ash, slag) longterm moisture of that layer is provided, therefore disables the lift – up and spreading of ash during transportation. 4

  4. THE USE OF THE PRODUCTS IN REAL – LIFE CONDITIONS 5

  5. SIMULATION OF PREVENTIVE ANTIFIRE IMPREGNATION OF CONVEYOR BELT IN TPP MORAVA • TPP Morava, Svilajnac, 29. 09. 2011 • Test– prevention of ignition and extinguishing the fire on a rubber conveyor belt using AQUASTATIN AF 20 • A part of a conveyor belt, approximately 2 – 3 meters long, has been treated with AQUASTATIN AF 20 previously (preventive antifire impregnation) • The other part of a conveyor belt has not been treated 6

  6. ANTIFIRE IMPREGNATION OF CONVEYOR BELT IN TPP MORAVA SIMULATION OF PREVENTIVE • By using fire from the torch (flame temperature 1300-1500 ̊C) the untreated part of a conveyor belt is being worked on. • Conveyor belt very quickly begins to burn in an open flame, and the fire is spreading along the belt. • After a short time the fire is flared up, and the conveyor belt continues to burn intensely even without the effect of external heat source – the torch. 7

  7. SIMULATION OF PREVENTIVE ANTIFIRE IMPREGNATION OF CONVEYOR BELT IN TPP MORAVA • Using only small amount of AF 20 and no professional equipment for extinguishing fire, the fire on the conveyor belt is put down efficiently and very quickly. • Both process of fire extinguishing and antifire impregnation of conveyor belt are being done by using AF 20, so the conveyor belt cannot be ignited afterwards, despite the very strong effect of fire from the torch. • The material of a conveyor belt will be charred due to the effect of flames, but the fire will not be spreading. 8

  8. SIMULATION OF PREVENTIVE ANTIFIRE IMPREGNATION OF CONVEYOR BELT IN TPP MORAVA • After that, the part of a conveyor belt, which has been treated with AF 20 an hour before, is being operated on using fire from the torch. In this case, the material of a conveyor belt is completely charred, but the flame is not spreading - on the contrary – it rapidly disappears after the temperature source (the torch) is put away from the material 9

  9. PRESENTATION ON A COAL DUMP OF TPP MORAVA • TPP Morava, Svilajnac, 29. 09. 2011 • Test no.1: Treatment of coal which started burning due to self – ignition • The fire on coal has been extinguished in a very short time using AQUASTATIN AF 20 • If the coal is preventively treated with AQUASTATIN AF 20, the self – ignition will not occur at all • The coal (and the coal dust) will remain protected for a very long time without the possibility of self – igniting again, as well as the coal dust spreading – the double effect 10

  10. PRESENTATION ON A COAL DUMP OF TPP MORAVA • Test no.2: Using AQUASTATIN AF 20 for extinguishing endogenous fires on coal dumps of TPP Morava, Svilajnac • AQUASTATIN AF 20 is injected into the endogenous fire zone, very quickly and efficiently, extinguishes the fire and doesn’t let the endogenous fire to reoccur in the AQUASTATIN AF 20 treated zone. • The quality of endogenous fire recovery entirely depends on how successfully the “epicenter” of endogenous fire is located. 11

  11. PRESENTATION ON ASH DISPOSAL SITE OF TPP NIKOLA TESLA TEM Svilajnac TENT “A” Obrenovac • The experiment is conducted on two locations: • Ash disposal site in area between ash storages 6 and 7 in TPP Svilajnac (treated area - 180m2) • Ash storage of two ash disposal sites TPP Nikola Tesla ’’A“ Obrenovac (treated area - 50m2) • Testing AQUASTATIN AD 15-40 • Characteristics: • On both locations, the transport of ashes is carried out hydraulically in form of very sparsely hydromixture • Ash site disposal in TPP Morava, Svilajnac, is formed as a platform and raised above the level of surrounding area • Ash on ash disposal sites of TPP Morava, Svilajnac is less loose than the one on TPP Nikola Tesla 12

  12. PRESENTATION ON ASH DISPOSAL SITE OF TPP NIKOLA TESLA 27.04.2012. 07.09.2012. 07.06.2012. • The observed period of time for TPP Morava, Svilajnac: 27.04.2012- 07.09.2012 13

  13. PRESENTATION ON ASH DISPOSAL SITE OF TPP NIKOLA TESLA • Artificially formed ash disposal site - 20m2 , within TPP Morava, Svilajnac • Ash disposal site is formed on 27th of April 2012 and has been treated with Aquastatin AD 15 – 40 • After regular checks in November 2012 it was found that there was no drying and ash spreading

  14. PRESENTATION ON ASH DISPOSAL SITE OF TPP NIKOLA TESLA • The observed period of time for TPP Nikola Tesla “A”, Obrenovac: 06.06.2012- 05.07.2012 17

  17. Presentation conducted by the Emergency Services Sector of Serbia • The use and efficiency of AQUASTATIN AF 20 in possible natural conditions of use • Town Ruma, area of the village Basenovo, October 14th 2012 • Test no.1:Simulation of fire in real life conditions and its effect on a structure of flammable material • Three piles of straw were formed, of which one was treated with AQS, one with water and one remained untreated . Immediately, they were set on fire • The results: • Straw treated with AQS remained dry on the inside and the flame is not amplified • There is only smouldering fire with a little bit of smoke • There is no change in structure of the straw • Even after 20-30 minutes, there is no flame and the pile that is treated with AQS is impossible to set on fire again 21

  18. Presentation conducted by the Emergency Services Sector of Serbia • Test no.2:Free transfer of fire • Three piles of straw - one treated with AQS, one with water, one remained untreated. They were not directly ignited, but through the trodden “rug” of straw • The results: • The temperature of burning flames was 217-280°C • After 15-20 minutes, there are no flames on a treated pile • The straw hasn’t changed its structure • The temperature was remeasured and it was 46-51°C 22

  19. Presentation conducted by the Emergency Services Sector of Serbia • Test no.3:Simulation of grounded forest fire which turns into crown fire affected by the wind • Three pine trees with a lot of branches at the bottom • Only branches and tops of pine trees were treated by Aquastatin AF 20 and water. The fire is ignited at the bottom • The wind is simulated by using axial fan • The results: • Pine tree treated with AQS extinguished and the branches and pine needles retained their structure • The pine tree treated with water and the one that remained untreated got charred 23
