3. Hi, today I was in the democratic republic of Congo and I seen the women wearing one piece dresses, it was really interesting… but I noticed that men wear a tee shirt and some times torn up pants. In the villages there only a couple hundred people… but it didn’t seem like that much. In the Congo there is over 62.5 million people in the country, I can’t believe it! Most people live mud brick houses, rich people can have a metal roof installed, it looked noting like a normal house to me! sincerely, me.

4. Welcome to the Congo!Its Known for its diamonds!

5. Man the natural resources are great here! A huge example would be diamonds! Congo Kinshasa is the richest in the continent of Africa, I never knew that! Africa exports diamonds, and some people also smuggle diamonds. In the 1950’s and 1960’s the Congo was ruled by the Belgians until the 1960’s. the Congo gained independence around 1970’s. when the Belgians came to Africa they took all the strong and healthy people and left the Congo with the weak and poor, that was mean of them. The Congo had a new constitution and it went into effect in 2006. in 2006 Congolese voters held the first general election under a new constitution. These facts blew me away, I never knew these things! Sincerely, Me

Wow I couldn’t believe the geography here! there is lowland and small but majestic mountains around the town I am living in for the week, There is rain is common here, the tribal leaders told me that around forty of rain inches all year round! The democratic republic of Congo is right on the coast of the Atlantic ocean and it’s a little farther than the Indian ocean, the other countries are also in that area too. The other countries that are also in the area have great land too, there is the Republic of Congo, which is west of the Democratic Republic of Congo! I checked in on the churches and religion following buildings, and I found out that the main religions are more common than usual; there are a lot of people in the Christian religion, but not as many as the following Religions! 9. Every body in the village that I live in speak compleately different languages, so I had to learn some small bits of the languages like French, lingala, Tshiluba and Swahili! One interesting thing I found out about the language is that they spoke Belgium first until the French came and took over making them have to speak Frenchas their main langauge. After the langauge lessons I head over to the nearest resteraunt, I noticed that the Congolese eat light meals because of the food amounts on their plates. After eating I took a walk to the dance and art school, its name was “Danse et les arts” in French it means “dance and arts” It took me a while to read that, I almost missed it! I walked in to the building and there were a lot of different types of items in different rooms, one was art, another was dance and the last was music. I really enjoyed my time there, the people there were nice. Sincerely, Me

11. Today, I learned that there are a lot of health issues that I never knew of, I learned that the main health issues are Malaria, yellow fever, AID’s and cholera. There are a lot of children programs for the children who lose there parents because of HIV and AID’s, I feel kind of sad for them, just imagine one day to come home and they’re not there; so I dicided to help out on this program to help these children. There are a ton of health problems due to people doing things with out clothing or protection, like bandages or having stitching done, having HIV or AID’s or malaria is really deadly. sincerely, Me
