Age and the perception of online learning Lee Lawson EDTC 5103
Hypothesis • Generally, the older a person is, the more skeptical he or she will be towards the benefits and effectiveness of online education.
Methodology • A simple, five question survey was administered via e-mail to all employees on a college campus. The first twenty completed surveys that were returned to me were used for this study.
Results Chart 2 • This chart shows the average numerical total of the responses for each generation.
Summary • The data collected from these twenty individuals seems to support the general hypothesis that the older a person is, the more skeptical he or she will be towards the benefits and effectiveness of online education. • The results chart showing the clearly declining average numerical value to the responses in correlation to increasing age is a very telling visual aid. • The major flaw of this study is obviously the small sample size of subjects.
