Child molesters come from every class, profession, racial, and religious background Most are persons child knows and trusts Highest incidence happens within the family, extended family, including stepfamily 90% of reported abusers are married men Large proportion are married with children themselves Most offenders lacked affection and physical contact when they were young (That is No Excuse!) High percentage were themselves abused as children (No Excuse!) Child molesters tend to gravitate towards places, professions, and activities which put them into easy contact with children WHO ARE SEXUAL ABUSERS?
Abusers usually pick out their victims and plan their activity Child molesters average 73 child victims before they are caught (USA Statistic) Offenders avoid detection, they are experts at hiding their deviant behaviour Sexual abusers are often persons who are perceived authority-figures to the child, therefore, the child tends to be easily coerced into silence because of fear Despite efforts to work with offenders, the risk of re-offending (committing this crime again) is 75% WHO ARE SEXUAL ABUSERS? HOW TO NOT GET AIDS 1. Treat your body as a special gift, don’t give it away to anybody. 2. Wait for sex until you get married. 3. Don’t let anyone but “YOU” touch your private parts. 4. Treat others with respect also.
