Color ramps and data classification • Categorical data – distinctive colors • Numerical data – color ramps
Numerical data – percentages, etc. Red is a good color to have for the largest value. From the example here, the highest density areas “pop” out of the map in red
Numerical – color ramps: lightest to darkest This legend is not a good example. It’s always best to have largest #s at the bottom.
CAVEAT! • The following tip should be used wisely. • Do not get yourself over your head. • This class is about learning ArcGIS – not illustrator
