  1. A gift from Garis…. From my house to yours…. ENJOY!!!

  2. Step #1 • Place envelope so the flap is face up

  3. Step #2 • Using a straight-edge, draw the diagonals of the rectangle • The diagonals of a rectangle are…?

  4. Step #3 • Cut the “top triangle” off the envelope • The flap should be gone! Be careful not to cut the bottom part of the envelope!

  5. Step #4 • Fold the “left and right” triangles across the lines left over from the diagonals • Pull them down using the diagonal as the “reflection line” • Your new shape should resemble a diamond

  6. Step #5 • Get a nice, crisp crease for these “doggy ears” • Now open your envelope and tuck one of the triangular prisms into the other • You should have your new holiday ornament that will brighten your home!

  7. Step #6…It’s decoration time! • Use markers and your creativity to make this ornament your own! • Any math terms would enhance your ornament! • Take a paper clip to use to hang from your tree • You can fold it flat and carry it around with you today! • HAVE THE BEST BREAK POSSIBLE!
