  2. Question William Shakespeare has been regarded as one of the most influential writers in history. He has done over 40 pieces of writing ranging from comedies to tragedies to poetry. Pay attention to the presentation because there is a small quiz at the end. William Shakespeare

  3. Question A photo of the house in Stratford-upon-Avon, the city that William is from, where it is believed he was born. It has been argued as to where he was even born. Some historical records indicate that he was born in the county of Warwickshire, England. Traditionally, his birthday is celebrated April 23. This is based on information found from his baptism . Records indicated he was baptized on April 26, 1564. His father held the position of bailiff, a sort of mayor role, and his mother came from a family of money.   4. Question Drawing of Anne Hathaway William enjoyed his early school years but later on thought better of going to university. He felt that it was not the place for him. In 1582, at the age of 18, he married a woman named Anne Hathaway. Anne was nearly twice his age, 26 years old. Then in 1583, Anne gave birth to a daughter, Susanna. After that in 1585, Anne gave birth to twins, Hamnet and Judith. Tragically Hamnet, William’s only son, died 11 years later.

Question Painting done by Sir John Gilbert containing scenes and characters from several of William plays William wrote, what was believed to be his first play, Henry VI Part One between 1589 and 1590. He would have been about 25 at the time. Throughout his writing career he even performed his works before the Court Queen Elizabeth I (The Merry Wives of Windsor in 1596 and A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream in 1603) and King James I.
