News For the Week: Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, October 2 nd . Students who have no color changes for the entire week can buy a treat on Fridays. Each treat is $1.00 .

News For the Week: • Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, October 2nd. • Students who have no color changes for the entire week can buy a treat on Fridays. Each treat is $1.00. • Students are reminded each day to write their name on every paper. Papers with no name get 5 points off. Students are also reminded to check their work before turning it in. Answers left blank will be marked wrong. • I will send Scholastic book order forms each month. You may send a check made out to Scholastic or you may order online. • Please send a sweater or jacket that your child can keep at school. The classrooms are often cold. Write your child’s NAME inside the jacket. • Please clean out your child’s leopard notebook each night. Look for notes from the teacher, graded work and homework. Go over missed items so your child understands what was marked wrong. • Some students are not using their time wisely. They are given plenty of time to finish class work. Unfinished work will be marked wrong. We will order 3 #’s least to greatest & greatest to least. Math Vocabulary Words more, most, less than, least, greater, greatest, sum, addend, plus, equal Basic Shapes circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, rhombus(diamond), heart, star Number Awareness We will review before/after, greater/fewer. What # comes before 7? What # comes after 11? Is 3 greater than 6? Is 5 fewer than 8?Problem Solving We are solving addition word problems. I see 2 brown dogs and 3 white dogs. How many in all? Calendar Skills Your child will be exposed to calendar skills daily. We will learn about the days of the week, months of the year, seasons, and weather. Patterns We will review building and extending patterns. AB, ABB, ABC, AAB, AABB Social Studies Objective We will learn about communities, towns, cities, our country, and our world.
