Reuse of data • More consistent data - Lessredundancy • Standardisationaffecting/imply more qualified information • Lessresourcesused to meetreportingrequirements; automaticpull-outs • Initial phase in the strategy to have more open and accesibledata (Input to the eGOVERNMENTstrategy) • Side effects: • One datamodel for thisfield of the environment • (Master) data generated at the source • Standardisation– synonymous perception of the differentconcepts • Update / optimisework flow • Challenges: • Hugecoordinationtask with otherstakeholders (ministries and agencies, supplyers of it-systems)

Improvingknowledgesharing (1): • Authorities: • Improved transparency in data generation and work flow • Streamlining of work flows • More sound foundation gives basis for more uniform decision making (database for permit conditions; permit for waste water) • Inspiration and support from similar cases or colleagues • One entrance for publication, notification and subscription of environmental data • Management statistic (for comparison, planning) • Challenges: • Administrative acts and regulation prevent “total” knowledge sharing between authorities • To many data are marked “Confidential” • Local approaches are being “steamlined” – local “autonomy” is being reduced

Improvingknowledgesharing (2): • Companies: • Guided application process =>shorter processing time and more adequate application • More transparency in decision making, more identical decisions • Better overview of data and information • Challenges: • Sensitive information (competitive data, personal data) • Public: • Better access to information (one entrance – all permitting authorities) • More information (applications, permits, inspections, EU-data: IPPC/PRTR/Seveso) • Challenges: • Still very technical presentation (addressing layman - to be further developed)
