UCLA PREP Outcomes 93% (499) were accepted to medical and or health professional school • 66% (452) of those who applied to medical school have been accepted • 100% (47) to health professional school
UCLA Reapplication (RAP) Program • Began in 2000 • Goal is to assist promising students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have been unsuccessful in gaining admission to US medical school, and become practicing physicians in California
UCLA RAP Eligibility • Previously unsuccessful in gaining admission to US medical school • Be committed to practice in an underserved community • Educationally/economically disadvantaged background • Have received undergraduate degree or higher from US college or university • Minimum GPA 2.7 science or higher, MCAT 20 or higher • CA resident
RAP Outcomes • 68% of participants identified as African Americans or Latinos • 85.8% (78) have been accepted to medical school • 95.6% (87) total entering health profession • Program evaluations report an increase in self confidence, academic ability, acceptances, interviews and acceptances
