Big Changes • HB 5: 5 End-of-Course Exams • English I • English II • Biology • US History • Algebra I • Locks in Phase 1 standard for all EOC exams for students that have taken an EOC • Possibility of fewer tests for grades 3-8 • Another year of phase 1 (not a free year, a work harder year) • Last year for STAAR M • STAAR Alt. = TEA will create tasks • Released Tests

Overview for Curriculum Planning Day • Complete Six Weeks Calendar to Determine Number of Instructional Days • Update all Department on Work from Summer Curriculum Planning Day (review item analysis findings, released tests, areas of concentration) • Review Year-at-a-Glance as a Department • Review Areas of Improvement for Campus • Complete Daily CSCOPE Lesson Plan Addendum (1st Six Weeks Lesson Planning) • Must include data rationale if changes are made to CSCOPE lessons

  5. 1st Six Weeks Lesson Planning • 1st Six Weeks Overall Calendar • Determine days of instruction • Outline day to day instruction aligned to year at a glance • Complete Lesson Plan Addendum • Review Data from STAAR results/released tests to determine cause of low scores • Taught differently than tested? • Didn’t spend enough time on SE? • Need more training on concept? • Etc.
