The Play • The Vagina Monologues • Written in 1996, The Vagina Monologues is a collection of personal testimonies from over 200 women. • The Prominent Issues • The play deals frankly with such issues as rape, abuse, and self-discovery. • The Play Expands • The Vagina Monologues has now been translated into 35 different languages, and has been performed world wide.

The Activism • V-Day • Began in 1997 as a non-profit organization to stop violence against women. • What I Want My Words To Do To You • A documentary based on her writing workshop in Bedford Hill’s Correctional Facility for Women. • Other Causes • “Revolutionary Association for Women of Afghanistan.” • Helped with lobby for the Mexican government to re-investigate the killings in Ciudad Juarez
