ACCOMPLISHMENTS2001/2002/2003 • 23,000 Persons Screened for Cancers - 910 adenomatous polyps found • 83 Cancers diagnosed - 27 colorectal • 370,000 Persons provided cancer education and awareness • 46 Research proposals funded by Johns Hopkins Cancer Center • 18 Research Proposals funded in Other Tobacco-Related Diseases • 164 New cancer clinical trials initiated at University of Maryland • 27,000 Individuals reached through the Statewide Health Network • 160,000 Students provided tobacco education and awareness • 3,500 Health care providers received tobacco education

ACCOMPLISHMENTS2001/2002/2003 • 11,000 Adults received smoking cessation services • 5,000 Youth received smoking cessation services • 6,200 Retail stores were visited for compliance with tobacco • laws • 13,000 Citations were issued to retailers and youth • 94,000 Citizens logged on to “Smoking Stops Here” website • 10,000 Marylanders signed a pledge to take action against smoking • 152 Community-based minority organizations funded to assist CRFP
