  5. D42 End M33 End M42 Task 7.2.1 plan

  6. Task 7.2.1 plan update proposition

  7. Conclusions • Some minor delays in primary plan realization are occurred, but keeping the plan is still possible • All information concerning IPJ irradiation possibility are collected • The most critical issue for „Today”: conversion method of doses of full energy spectrum to doses of narrow energy range • Irradiation specification is needed ASAP for: • determination sample irradiation costs in IPJ • start of the irradiation set-ups design

  8. Standards for insulation specimens tests Jaroslaw POLIŃSKI, Eliza ROSZAK

  9. Eucard-WP7 HFM Wokshop on insulator irradiation 2 dec. 2009 - F.Rondeaux

  10. BS EN ISO14130:1998 Fibre-reinforced plastic composites - Determination of apparent interlaminar shear strength by short-beam method BS EN ISO14130:1998 This International Standard specifies a procedure for determining the apparent interlaminar shear strength of fibre-reinforced plastic composites by the short-beam method.

  11. BS EN ISO14130:1998 apparent interlaminar shear stress, the interlaminar shear stress acting on the neutral plane of the specimen apparent interlaminar shear strength, the value of the apparent interlaminar shear stress at failure or when the load reaches a maximum value

  12. BS EN ISO14130:1998

  13. BS EN ISO14130:1998 At least five test specimens shall be tested When it is not possible or not desirable to use the standard specimen, the following rules shall be observed:l = 10h, b = 5h Depending upon the material being tested, specimens of 2 mm thickness may fail by shear or experience compression failureunder load or exhibit extreme deflection without shear failure As specimen thickness (height) is increased, the probability ofcompression failure under load increases

  14. BS EN ISO14130:1998

  15. BS ISO 15024:2001 Fibre-reinforced plastic composites — Determination of mode I interlaminar fracture toughness, GIC, for unidirectionally reinforced materials BS ISO 15024:2001 This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of mode I interlaminar fracture toughness (critical energy release rate), GIC, of unidirectional fibre-reinforced plastic composites using a double cantilever beam (DCB) specimen

  16. BS ISO 15024:2001 mode I interlaminar fracture toughness critical energy release rate GICthe resistance to the initiation and propagation of a delamination crack in unidirectional fibre-reinforced polymer matrix composite laminates under mode I opening load mode I crack opening the crack-opening mode due to a load applied perpendicular to the plane of delamination using the double cantilever beam specimen

  17. BS ISO 15024:2001

  18. BS ISO 15024:2001 Specimens

  19. BS ISO 15024:2001 Specimens Other specimen thicknesses may be used, depending on the tensile modulus of elasticity and the anticipated interlaminar fracture toughness of the specimen. Other specimen widths between 15 mm and 30 mm may be used. Increasing the length of the specimen is not critical. However, shortening is not recommended because it will reduce the maximum delamination length that can be investigated and thus yield too few data points for the analysis A minimum number of five specimens shall be tested.

  20. EuCARD WP 7 – High Field MagnetsTask 2 – Support studiesTask 7.2.2 – Thermal modelsStatus Raport Jaroslaw Polinski, Eliza Roszak, Maciej Chorowski Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering EuCard-WP7-HFM Collaboration Meeting – UniGe,Geneva 08.06.2010
