FAPS 2015 On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great honor to invite you to The 2ndMeeting of the Federation of Asian Perfusion Societies (FAPS 2015), which will be held in conjunction with the 41stAnnual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society of Extra-Corporeal Technology in Medicine (JaSECT), and 68thAnnual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Association for Thoracic Surgery (JATS), on October 16 to 18, 2015 at Kobe International Convention Center in Kobe, Japan. ※ ※Participants of FAPS2015 can also attend the 41st JaSECT and the 68th JATS meetings without incurring any additional fees.

  4. FAPS 2015 • Today, Asia occupies the largest area of the world and is the most populated area as well. However, many issues exist in the quality of medicine and the medical education system in our extra-corporeal circulation field. • In order for us to fulfill our social responsibilities, it is necessary for perfusionists in Asia to acquire state-of-the-art knowledge and improve techniques to be able to provide the best medical care for our patients. • The theme selected for this Meeting is “Harmony & Fusion -All for one, one for all-”. • I hope this meeting will provide the opportunity for all participants to go beyond the boundaries of countries and to collaborate, thereby contributing to better medical treatment in Asia.

FAPS2015 Call for Abstracts Notes • All abstracts must be submitted via the congress website. • ONLY presenting authors who have registered and paid by August 31, 2015 will be added in the program. • The abstract must contain original materials, not published or presented at any other congress prior to the FAPS 2015. Body of the Abstract • Abstracts must be written in English, and not more than 300 words in length. • Abstracts must be presented using the following format: Background and/or Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusion The extended deadline for abstract submission is May 15, 2015.

  10. FAPS2015 Call for Abstracts Abstracts Review and Selection • Abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the Program Committee. • Authors will be notified of selection by e-mail in early July. Topics and Presentation Styles • Please select a topic which is most applicable to your study. You may also specify the preference for an oral presentation or poster viewing. • Please note that the Program Committee will make the final allocation if the abstract is accepted. The meeting website will be updated on a regular basis.
